Melusina, Double Tailed Mermaid - Limited Edition Handprinted Linocut

The print ‘Melusina’ depicts the double tailed mermaid, which was a popular icon in religious art during the twelfth century. Carvings of the double tailed mermaid can be found across Europe, particularly in France, Spain, and Italy. Melusina may have originally been a pagan symbol for fertility and prosperity but is also known as an emblem for female sexuality.
