Laughing Kookaburra - Limited Edition Handprinted Linocut

Every time I hear the Kookaburra I feel at home. When I was little, my parents took with us to Uruguay, a vinyl record with the Australian sounds, and they used to play it for us. The Kookaburra laugh was the most familiar to me, it was my connection to my Aussie home.

I sketched this Kookaburra at Culburra Beach, NSW, part of Jerrinja Wandi Wandian Aboriginal Country.  The laughing kookaburra is native to eastern mainland Australia, they are the largest Kingfisher in the world. They live in families, with siblings remaining in the family till they are old enough to look after themselves.
