‘Margarita’s First Flight’ draws inspiration from the classic novel ‘The Master and Margarita,” written by the Russian author Mikhail Bulgakov. In this tale, Margarita strikes a pact with the devil, granting her liberation from societal conventions. In my depiction, Margarita takes flight on a broomstick, symbolising her embrace of newfound freedom and independence.

Materials: Eco-friendly pigments and linseed oil ink, crafted on Mulberry paper.
